1:00 pm Skits -- Final Exam

Welcome back from lunch. We're getting close to the end of our workshop. It's time for the final exam. We've learned this week that we don't need words to learn. So, for your final exam, you will be working in new teams.. Each team will be given one of the important concepts we learned this week. Your job is to create a skit or charade that will illustrate the message so that your fellow colleagues here can best the test. In just a moment we'll form teams.

  • Number off by 6 or 7
  • Meet your team around the room

Now, I'll go around to each team and you can pick the concept that you will be presenting. You will have 15 minutes to prepare. In 15 minutes, we'll return to this room for the final exam. At that time, come back and sit with your team around the room.

  • Let them choose the topic out of a basket

OK? When I say go, you have 15 minutes to prepare. GO.

  • Time 15 minutes
  • Announce time to regroup

It is now time for the final exam!! Let's start with Group #1!

  • Cheering

Select topics and write them on strips on a basket

2:00 pm Acknowledgments

During these past 6 days you have met and worked with some awesome people. It is important to take a moment to acknowledge them personally. In just a moment you'll have an opportunity to do just that. I'd like all the grade K-3 teachers to form a circle in the middle facing out. In just a moment, I'll ask you to close your eyes. Then for the next few minutes your colleagues will have an opportunity to come up to each of you and whisper in your ear something that they appreciate about you and the work you are doing.

  • Acknowledgements of K-3 teachers

Now, quietly, the teachers in the middle may step back out of the circle, and the remaining teachers can form an outward facing circle. Please close your eyes and accept the gratitude of your colleagues for the commitment that you are.

  • Acknowledgements of 4-7 teachers

Finally, we have among us a number of new teachers to Sheridan Elementary. I'd like to ask them to come forward. I'm sure that each of you experienced teachers will be there to support them. As we go around the room, look them in the eye, and say:

"You can count on me..."

It's graduation time! Time to celebrate!
